Auskick Programme

ARFLI have operated an Auskick Programme aimed at National School Children since 2003. Since then several schools and Sports Camps have availed of the programme either on a one off basis for theme Australian Days or with a more sustained six week programme. This year we will be in more schools than ever and there are plans to form our first Junior Club in the summer.

The programme introduces children to a fun, safe, non-contact form of Australian Football while also eduacating them about Australian geography, history and culture.

If you are a School Principal or Sports Camp Co-Ordinator and would like to find out about how you can avail of the Auskick Programme, you can contact us by going to the Contact Us Link on the left and submitting your query.

Questions You May Have As A Parent

Because Auskick is relatively new to Ireland, many parents have questions they want answered. Below are some of the most frequently asked, but if you have any concerns please feel free to contact us through the Contact Us - Auskick form

Is it OK for boys and girls?
You bet it is; everyone is involved.

Can parents get involved?
The involvement of parents is an integral component of the success of the programme, so get out of the car and get involved.

Your Auskick coordinator will provide all the help and advice you need. You don’t need to have a background in the game, just the willingness to spend more time with your children, learn new skills, get active and make new friends. Auskick is RUN BY THE COMMUNITY FOR THE COMMUNITY!

Is it fun?
Of Course it is! is footy fun? It’s the greatest game in the world.

Is it safe?
Auskick has been developed with fun and safety as its prime drivers.

Will it work for very young kids?
Auskick starts with five-year-olds and teaches kids fundamental motor skills.

What will we get out of it?
Everyone, boys, girls and parents, will learn the skills of a new sport and be physically active while making new friends.

Anything else I need to know?
Yep, if you have a go, you’ll end up fitter and healthier and discover part of yourself you never knew existed.
